I am a third year PhD student at UC Santa Barbara, advised by William Wang and Xin Eric Wang. I have worked at Google DeepMind and Microsoft Research, and did my undergrad at IIT Delhi.

My current research interests include:

  • Auto-research. How do we train models that act as autonomous researchers? Currently working on automating-discovery, with the long term goal of turning AI on problems like climate change and poverty.
  • Reinforcement learning. How can we train policies to be explorative while reliably optimizing for reward?
  • Multi-agent interaction and simulation. Can we simulate human societies with populations of agents, and does the behaviour that emerges tell us anything about the real one?
